Terms of Service

Last updated October 21, 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Cheatful ("Cheatful", "we", "us") and govern your use of our website, tools and services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. Who can use Cheatful

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
  • If you are under the age of majority where you live (18 in most places), you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use.
  • You may not use the Service if the law where you live does not allow it, or if we have banned you before.

3. Your account

  • Give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your password secure and don't share your account. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
  • Tell us right away at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed your account.

4. Academic integrity

Cheatful is a study and learning aid. Schools, instructors and institutions have their own rules about using AI and outside help, and those rules differ.

  • You are solely responsible for knowing and following the academic integrity rules, honour codes and assignment instructions that apply to you.
  • Do not use the Service to submit work as your own where that is not allowed, to cheat on tests or exams, or to break any rule of your school or institution.
  • We are not responsible for any academic, disciplinary or other consequences of how you use the Service or its results.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break any law or anyone else's rights, including privacy and intellectual property rights;
  • upload content that is illegal, harmful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or that exploits minors;
  • upload personal information about other people without the right to do so;
  • scrape, crawl or copy the Service, use bots or automated access, or get around usage limits, security or access controls;
  • interfere with or overload the Service, or try to break into it or test its security without permission;
  • reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it;
  • resell, rent or give others access to the Service or your account;
  • use the Service to build a competing product or to train AI models;
  • use the Service to create malware, spam, scams or misleading content;
  • break the usage policies of the AI providers we use.

6. Your content

"Your Content" means anything you enter, upload or submit to the Service, and the results the Service produces for you.

  • You keep ownership of Your Content.
  • You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process and display Your Content only as needed to provide, secure and improve the Service for you, including sending it to our service providers as described in our Privacy Policy. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law.
  • You confirm that you have the rights needed to upload Your Content and that it doesn't break these Terms or anyone else's rights.
  • We may remove content that we believe breaks these Terms or the law.

7. AI-generated results

  • Results are produced by AI and automated tools. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or similar to results given to other users.
  • Citations, sources, calculations, grades, scores and predictions are provided for convenience only. Always check them yourself before relying on them.
  • Results are not professional, legal, medical, financial or academic advice, and we do not guarantee any grade or outcome.
  • You are responsible for how you use results, including making sure your use is allowed.

8. Our property

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics and the Cheatful name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. These Terms give you a personal, limited, non-transferable right to use the Service as allowed here, and nothing more. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely without owing you anything.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on and may link to services run by others, such as public catalogues and AI providers. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, availability or practices. Your use of them may be subject to their own terms.

10. Paid features

Some features may require payment in the future. If so, prices, billing, renewal, cancellation and refund terms will be shown to you before you buy, and will form part of these Terms. Prices are in Canadian dollars unless stated otherwise. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or cancellation rights you have under applicable consumer protection laws.

11. Copyright complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with a description of the work, where the content appears on the Service, your contact information, and a statement that you own the rights or are authorized to act for the owner. We will review notices and respond as required by law, including Canada's notice and notice regime. We may close the accounts of repeat infringers.

12. Changes to the Service

We may add, change, limit or remove any part of the Service, including tools and usage limits, at any time. We may also set limits on how much you can use the Service. We are not liable to you for any change, suspension or discontinuation of the Service, except where the law says otherwise.

13. Suspension and termination

  • You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing [email protected].
  • We may suspend or close your account, or remove access to any part of the Service, if you break these Terms, if required by law, or if needed to protect the Service, other users or us. Where reasonable, we will tell you first.
  • Sections that by their nature should continue after termination will continue, including those on Your Content, our property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law.

14. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free. You use the Service at your own risk.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Cheatful and its owners, operators and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, grades, academic standing, profits or opportunities, arising from or related to the Service or these Terms, even if we were told they were possible.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for all claims related to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or 100 Canadian dollars.

16. Indemnity

To the extent allowed by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Cheatful and its owners and operators from any claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or of anyone else's rights.

17. Your rights as a consumer

Some places do not allow certain disclaimers, limits of liability or other terms above. If you live in one of them, those terms apply only as far as the law allows, and nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived by contract.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict of law rules. You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia, except where the consumer protection laws of the place you live give you the right to bring a claim in your local courts. Before starting any legal claim, please contact us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above and let you know through a notice on Cheatful. If a change is material, we will give you notice before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, stop using the Service and you may close your account.

20. General

  • These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
  • If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
  • If we don't enforce a part of these Terms, that doesn't mean we give up the right to do so later.
  • You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours, for example as part of a sale or reorganization of our business.
  • We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
